Eat Slowly
Have you ever felt really full from your meals and wondered how you got so full in the first place? It always seems to hit you at the end of the meal. Your stomach, mouth and brain all work together to take in and digest your meals. They are all connected together and signal each other indicating when the food has been eaten, and whether more food is required or whether you are full. It takes about 20 minutes for your stomach to signal to your brain that you are full. To avoid eating more even though you are full, you can simply slow down when you eat.
So take your time and enjoy your family’s company. You do not need to feel hurried and compete to eat as much as possible.
If you are still having trouble with eating too fast here is a great method to try. Each time you put a spoon full in your mouth, start counting the amount of times you chew. You will be surprised how much less you eat if you only simply slow down.
Stretching out your meals to last 20 minutes or longer can be great for your diet. Eating slower can also ensure that you chew your food properly as that is essential for proper digestion as well. So just slow down your meals to last 20 minutes longer to help you eat a healthier portion.
